tudies show that men are much less interested in their nutritional status than women and are far less
likely to supplement in order to meet their nutritional needs. Increased stress levels in our modern
society have caused a huge number of nutritional deficiencies that need to be met with supplements
and an improved diet.
Many of the following vitamins and minerals can be taken as part of a good multivitamin and mineral
supplement for men:
Men need to take between 5,000 and 25,000iu daily of vitamin A as betacarotene;
The B-complex vitamins should be taken daily in three doses at between 10 and 25mg. Vitamin B3 should
be taken at 10 to 200mg;
Vitamin C is required at between 200 and 600mg daily, broken into three doses;
Men need between 200 and 400iu of vitamin D, taken as ergocalciferol (vitamin D2);
Take 250 mg of fish oil daily;
Take 200 to 400iu of vitamin E;
Iodine, from kelp, or as potassium iodide, is required by men at 75 to 150mcg daily;
Zinc, as zinc gluconate or picolinate, should be taken at 10 to 15 mg daily;
Take selenium, an antioxidant, at 50 to 200mcg;
Molydbenum, at 50 to 100 mvg;
Calcium, at 200 to 1,000mg;
Copper, at 1 to 2mg;
Chromium, at 50 to 200mcg;
Magnesium, at 200 to 400mg;
Manganese, at 5 to 10mg.
